Mixed feelings in the heart of Rome

I suspect that we did not get one of the better rooms on our travels. Our room though beautiful felt very cramped. It was an also rather bizarre combination of old artifacts and a portable shower, foot rinsing tub which you would normally find in a manicure salon and a massage machine on a chair! Entrance to the hotel is somewhat problematic with several steps of staircases to navigate which would make it a trial for elders though the MOD was helpful with the suitcases. Entry from the outside of the property also requires intercom improvement. This being said, the hotel itself is incredibly unique with beautiful pieces of art and statues adorning the reception and bedroom. Never really seen anything like it! Whilst this was remarkable it felt a little claustrophobic. Upon arrival you are informed that the mini bar is free which is very well stocked full of ham and cheeses but does not make up for the fact that you literally have to eat on your bed for breakfast and that breakfast itself is not served. The location is obviously exceptional which justifies the price to a degree.

Fantastic hosts, very welcoming and helpful. Hotel centrally located so could walk to all sights within 30mins Rooms have quirky décor which adds to the atmosphere Room well stocked and fridge had large selection of food to make breakfasts and take snacks for lunches, coffee machine and mini oven in room also. Would definitely recommend and would stay here again Several steps up to hotel which could be an issue if guests have mobility difficulties but the only negative comment.

one of the most beautiful hotels ive ever stayed at. me and my boyfriend went to Rome in January for our birthdays and as soon as i saw this hotel online i knew i had to book it, the over the top beautiful decor doesnt just stop in the lobby it continues all the way through the hotel and hotel rooms. our room was beautiful (it was also a little cramped but we really didnt mind we were really only sleeping at the hotel we were out most of the time. the hotel staff were very kind and friendly upon arrival. we had an early flight so our room was not quite ready when we arrived but we left our bags and went for some luch and by the time we got back we were able to check in and they had kindly taken our bags to our room. the room was completely over the top and i LOVED it. the painted frescos on thee wall and unique design of the room was fantastic and the sheer amount of snacks and drinks they provide is fabulous AND its restocked daily! the hotel also recommended two very close restaurants that were lovely and we went to one of them multiple times during our stay. At the end of our stay the amazing staff also gifted us some lovely pasta to take home and we have only recently just finished the bag! the only problem we had during the whole stay at Barrett was on our second morning one the floor above us there was some sort of building work taking place that ruined our morning, but after raising this with the manager it never happened again during our stay which i appreciated. overall this hotel is one of the best ive ever stayed in in all my travel and i cannot count how many times ive recommended it since we came back.

It was an amazing hotel! We stayed 5 nights there and all the staff was so helpful to us. They did our stay perfect. Room was cleaned everyday and staff refilled our room with snacks! The receptionist Annette was very kind and cheerful to help us every time when we needed something. Also the other staff was always next to us when we needed their help.

Fantastic hotel in a great location, made even better by the welcoming kind and friendly staff. Very quirky and full of character, central but not noisy - we could not have asked for more! Comfortable beds, good shower, very clean - the only minor downside was size of room but we were only really in it to sleep so not a problem. Would definitely stay there again! Close to everything, great food nearby and really useful tips and recommendations from staff. Wonderful!
